Tianjin Induction Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. has successfully developed the silicon carbide solid-state high-frequency induction heating power supply (hereinafter referred to as SiC high-frequency) since 2018. This power supply has the characters of high power factor, wide load adaptability range, low loss of switching and conduction, high bus voltage, simple structure and stable running. It’s widely used in steel pipe welding, strip heating, gem smelting and other industries.

The key customer of the SiC high-frequency trial is a leading high-frequency welded pipe company in China, with an annual output of 5 million tons of various steel pipes. After friendly negotiation between the two parties, the 400kW silicon carbide solid-state high-frequency induction heating power supply was trialled on its ERW steel pipe production line in early December 2023, to compare with the original silicon MOS high-frequency and collect electricity saving data (this production line mainly produces DN40 steel pipes, thickness is 1.8 mm to 3.4 mm).

After one month of stable operation of the SiC high-frequency equipment, the analysis is as follows: compared with the original 400kW silicon MOS high-frequency equipment, Tianjin Induction 400kW SiC high-frequency can save 1.48 yuan in electricity bills for producing each ton of welded pipes (Test time: from December 5,2023 to January 14, 2024, the average electricity cost was 0.72 yuan/KWh), and the energy saving rate was approximately 13.59%.

Based on the customer's annual output of 5 million tons, if using  Tianjin Induction SiC solid state high frequency induction heating power supply, is expected to save 7.4 million yuan (10.27 million degrees) in electricity per year, which is equivalent to about 3186 tons of standard coal, and the equivalent of carbon dioxide emissions is about 8475 tons (Reference: Carbon Emission Reduction Estimation Method of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China).

Customer trial data shows that the SiC solid state high frequency induction heating power supply produced by Tianjin Induction has significant advantages of low carbon, energy saving, environmental protection, and easy maintenance. At present, the customer has decided to use our company's SiC solid state high frequency in the new factory in Yunnan province.
